Welcome to Seattle's Recreational Musician Community!
Urban Music Farm (UMF) operates as an organization for avid recreational musicians and vocalists who want to explore, play and perform various musical genres including rock, blues, funk, pop, country, and reggae with new styles being added as the community and its interests grow. Our programs provide short-term playing commitments and long-term community and a place for the practiced musician to apply their existing skill set with other like-minded players.
Our mission is to foster and build community between adult recreational musicians who are passionate about making music without the constraints, pressures, or judgment of the professional music scene. We shift the playing experience from the living room to the band room and believe the best music is the music we can make together.
UMF Programs
We offer an array of band-oriented programming focused on you: the adult recreational musician and vocalist. We shift the playing experience from the living room to the band room by offering short-term playing commitments combined with long-term community. Whether you want to play and perform in a band or collaborate on original music, we offer something for every recreational musician who wants to make music in a fun, supportive and non-competitive environment. Get involved at one of our three locations including Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma!

Facilitators
Facilitators, not instructors. We do not seek to compete with traditional music schools, individual instructors or one-on-one lessons. Rather, our programming is designed to provide the practiced recreational musician (late-beginner to advanced) with a place they can immediately apply their existing playing skills. Our facilitators help guide and direct your playing in real-time, group playing experiences that traditional practicing and learning environments don't offer. Meet our facilitators!

Original Music
Our recreational musician community is coming together to chart new ground and creatively collaborate on new music. Whether an all-new original song or an innovative rendition of a classic track, UMF musicians are collectively writing, arranging, and recording material through our Songshop collaborative songwriting program. We think of it as music of the people, by the people, and for the people. Listen to UMF music here!
